I often have those small cravings, specially during that evening hour after tea and before dinner ☺️ My kids have a typical request everyday.. Can we have something small to eat? and they never want to eat anything healthy when they ask for something small 😉 it is usually something like chips. But not always do I store chips at home. So what do I do….to satisfy those small cravings I turned the usual macaroni into a crispy snack. And the chaat masala in it adds a punch to it which takes it to a different level. It tastes so yumm that no one can eat just one 😍
The recipe calls for deep frying the macaroni but if you have an airfryer you could probably air fry it. I know we should stay away from fried stuff but sometimes indulgence is fine 🙂

Ingredients
Macaroni – 2 cups
Water – 6 cups
Salt – 1 Tsp
Corn starch – 2 Tbsp
All purpose flour – 1 Tsp
Oil – for frying + 1tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1 Tsp
Turmeric – 1/2 Tsp
Chaat masala – 1 Tsp
Black Salt – 1/2 Tsp
Dry Mango powder ( Amchur powder ) – 1 Tsp
Method –

In a pan add 6 cups of water and let it come to a boil.
Add oil, salt and Macaroni to the boiling Water.
Cook the Macaroni 80 %, will take about 10-12 mins. Then strain the water and wash it with cold water. Let the water drain completely and the macaroni become dry.
Take a bowl, mix the cornflour and all purpose flour and coat the macaroni with it.
Then strain the coated Macaroni in a strainer so there is no extra flour.

Heat another pan and add oil to fry. Once the oil is hot enough, add the coated macaroni in small batches and fry until they turn light brown and crispy.
Mix the chilli powder, turmeric, chaat masala, black salt and dry mango powder together and add it to the fried macaroni.
Your chatpata crispy crunchy macaroni is ready to be devoured 🙂
